The "Grade Me" block gives instructors a course-wide view of all the student submissions that require grading.
For a busy Teacher, having a heads-up display of all the assignments, lessons, or quizzes that require marking can be pretty handy.
Getting Started with "Grade Me"
These articles give detailed descriptions of Grade Me's features, setup, and use:
Issues and Limitations
Journal activities may not show up in the "Grade Me" block in Moodle for several reasons, primarily because the block is designed to specifically target certain activity types (assignments, quizzes, forums, etc.)
- Unsupported Activity Type: The "Grade me" block typically supports a specific list of activities: Assignments, Databases (ratings), Forums (ratings), Glossaries (ratings), Lessons (essays), and Quizzes (essays).
- No Pending Submissions: The "Grade me" block only shows activities that have submissions requiring grading. If all students have already been graded, or if no one has submitted a journal entry, the item will not show.
- Hidden Item: If the Journal activity itself is hidden on the course page, or if the grade item is hidden in the Gradebook setup, it will not appear in the "Grade me" block.
