Since our upgrade to Moodle 3.2, you may have noticed a new field on your course settings page: Course end date
This field is used only for reporting purposes, so there's no danger that your students will be locked out. If you are an instructor or course manager, we ask that you start using this field immediately, even if a course uses continuous intake enrolment*, with no end date.
Here's how to start using the Course end date field:
- go to the course's Edit settings page
- Scroll down to the Course end date field
- make sure that the Course end date field is enabled with a check mark
- use either the calendar tool, or the drop-down lists to enter the end date of the course.*
*If a course is continuous intake, or is a program shell, or for some other reason does not have a course end date, we ask that you enter a date of December 31, 2050, as shown in the following image. DO NOT USE this date simply because you don't know the exact date, or because you plan to keep re-using this shell, term after term. In the latter case, you should still use the OFFICIAL end date of the section you are teaching.
eLSupport thanks you for your cooperation in implementing this new practice!
