The Latest News block shows the most recent forum posts from your course's News forum, in a sidebar block that can be seen from most locations in your course.
It can be a helpful way to put useful news in an easy-to-see place for Students.
In order for the Latest News block to be visible to students, the actual News Forum must be visible to students.
- Turn editing on in your course.
- Make sure the "News Forum" is not hidden from view.
- Under your user menu in the top-right corner of the page, click on "Switch role to..." and change your role to Student to confirm that a student can now see the Latest News block.
- Click on "Return to my normal role" to get out of the student role view.
