KB1241 - Setting up Grader Notifications for Assignments and Quizzes

Moodle allows Instructors to be notified when students complete assignments, quizzes and other activities. Fortunately, it’s not an all-or-nothing situation and can be customized for various scenarios.

Many instructors like to receive a notification each time a student has submitted an assignment. Others may prefer it in some cases and not in others. And then there are some who would rather not receive notifications, at all.

Since it is most common for students to take quizzes (and exams) together and at a set time, most instructors would likely choose not to be notified for every quiz submission. However, there are cases such as in continuous intake courses where students will take quizzes at their convenience. In those cases, instructors may like to know whenever a student has completed a quiz.

NOTE: Because of incorrect usage of this role, the name has been changed from GRADER to GRADER (email notification) and can now only be assigned by someone in a Manager role. Any instructions not using the GRADER role can and should be completed by the instructor/s.
