In Moodle, you can insert rich media into your course in a few ways:
Embedding from Other Sites
You can embed media from various services (like YouTube, Vimeo, Prezi, etc.)
This approach is preferred at VCC, since it doesn't require Moodle to store a large media file in its database (which may negatively affect system performance).
Importing Existing Files
If you have a Flash video (FLV or SWF) or some other rich media file which cannot be hosted elsewhere, then you may have to upload the file into your Moodle course. The Moodle editor has a "Media" icon that you can use to select an existing file, or upload a new one.
