The Copy Cat role was created specifically for instructors (Teachers) to be able to allow access to their Moodle shell to other instructors for the purpose of making a copy that can then be restored into the Copy Cat teacher's Moodle shell. The role may be used to give another instructor read-only access to review content.
This is often used when an instructor is teaching a course for the first time and has been given permission to use another instructors course content to get going quickly, rather than building a course from scratch.
A Copy Cat teacher cannot turn editing on and therefore cannot make any changes, nor can they use the Sharing Cart tool to copy select items. If a Copy Cat teacher would like some, but not all, items from the original course, those items can be chosen during the backup process. Be warned, however, that the destination Gradebook will not have any of the categories retained and will need to be re-organized by the Copy Cat teacher in their destination shell.
