KB1057 - How do I view my student Activity Logs?

Moodle provides Teachers and Administrators with a wealth of log data on course and student activity, as well as overall system performance.
Moodle's Activity Logs provide information on actions taken by Teachers and Students inside course(s), or on other events related to course(s).

To view logs related to your course, do these steps:

  1. At the top of your course (under its Title), select "Reports".

  2. On the "Reports" page, you will see these options:

    • Accessibility Report: This shows your course's accessibility ratings and suggestions, from the A11y plugin.
    • Course Completion: This displays the Course Completion report for your course.
    • Dates: Displays the Dates report, which allows you to edit all the dates in your course.
    • Logs: You can view all kinds of access and activity events, filtered by person, date, activity, actions, or sources.
(Note: The source "web" refers to activity done through Moodle's web interface, which is what your Students or other people will use, so select this to omit any automatic or programmatic tasks that Moodle may also log for your course.)
    • Live Logs: Real-time logs of the most recent 30 events in your course.
    • Activity Report: See the number of views for each activity and resource in your course.
      https://docs.moodle.org/en/Activity_report
    • Course Participation: A report of student participation for a particular activity in your course.
    • Activity Completion: A heads-up display of Student progress across all your course activities (the Progress Completion block has a similar look and function to this report).
    • Statistics: Charts of overall Student course content views and forum activity.
