Once your WeBWorK course is ready for Student use, you can integrate it into your Moodle course as an "External Activity".
This gives you and your Students convenient one-click access to WeBWorK from inside your Moodle course.
What does "integration" mean, with Moodle?
In this context, we're able to create a link from your Moodle course that leads you and your Students into a course of content in the WeBWorK server. However, this link is special in that it automatically logs the user who clicks it into their WeBWorK user account and locates them inside a particular WeBWorK course (specified ahead of time, by the Instructor). This allows you to create a course in WeBWorK that contains additional study or practice problems, and lead your Moodle Students into it with one click.
Grades earned in WeBWorK from any homework or quizzes that the Students complete are automatically transmitted into the Gradebook in your Moodle course.

Ask eLSupport for a re-usable LTI Tool for your course
If your WeBWorK course already exists, and you need to integrate it with your Moodle course, CTLR's eLearning Support team ("eLSupport") can create an LTI External Tool activity for your Moodle course. Just use our eLSupport Help Request form. Please tells us the Name, CRN, or Course URL or Course ID of your Moodle course, and the name or URL of your existing WeBWorK course so we can find them easily.
If you need to create a new WeBWorK course as a companion to your Moodle course, all you have to do is request it using our WeBWorK course request form.
In either case, eLSupport will respond by email with all the details you need to use your WeBWorK course, once it's ready.
Adding your WeBWorK course as an External Tool activity
Allowing LTI Tools for your course
Before a preconfigured LTI Tool can be added as an activity in a Moodle course, the tool must be allowed to be used in the course's Activity Chooser. Course Teachers or Managers can do this by selecting "More > LTI Tools" at the top of the course and enabling one of the LTI Tools in the list.
After that, the enabled tool(s) will be available for selection in the course's Activity Chooser.
Adding your WeBWorK course as an External Tool activity

In the section where you want the activity to be added, select the (+) icon, and select "activity or resource" to open the Activity Chooser.

In the Activity Chooser, select the activity that is named after your WeBWorK course (this is your WW course's preconfigured tool).

NOTE: "Launch container" must be set to "New window".
After your WeBWorK course is integrated in Moodle
Once your WeBWorK course is successfully integrated into your Moodle course using the External Tool activity, you will see it with an icon like this:
Double-check the "Settings" on the LTI activity:
- Under the "Grade" section, ensure that the tool is allowed to send its grades to your Moodle course's Gradebook:
What if you do not see your WeBWorK course listed in Moodle?
If you cannot see your WeBWorK course listed in "More > LTI Tools" or in the Activity Chooser, then it may not have been added as a "Preconfigured Tool" in Moodle.
In that case, contact eLSupport and ask for your WeBWorK course to be added as a Preconfigured Tool.
